Adventure Sharing and Sparkworks

Adventure Sharing (since Apr 21, 2026) lets Enshrouded players upload their world for others to browse and visit; Sparkworks (1.0, Oct 15, 2026) adds a logic system of Switchboxes, triggers, clocks and logic gates for building puzzles, traps, arenas and dungeons.

Adventure Sharing is the menu in Enshrouded where players upload their own version of Embervale for anyone to browse and visit, and Sparkworks is the logic system added at 1.0 that turns those worlds into playable adventures: you build a Switchbox, link buttons, levers and pressure plates to outcomes such as traps, doors, water and enemy spawns, and add conditions with logic gates. Keen's video introducing it on Oct 8, 2026 calls Sparkworks a way to "spawn enemies, create events triggered by player actions, and much more", built as "a graph, basically a logic circuit". The name, Keen jokes, was chosen because none of its non-German staff could pronounce "Logikverknuepfungen". Adventure Sharing arrived first, with Forging the Path on Apr 21, 2026; Sparkworks came with the 1.0 release of Oct 15, 2026.

Why Keen built Adventure Sharing

Players were sharing builds long before the menu existed. Fiona, a UI designer at Keen, says in the feature's introduction of Apr 17, 2026 that from the start of early access players built "racetracks, mazes, obstacle courses" and wanted to show them to strangers, even though the save system "was built with robustness in mind and not the ease of sharing". So Keen made sharing "an integral part of the game": the goal is "to allow players to easily find new places to explore and play in, built and shared by other players."

Keen's Forging the Path highlights call Enshrouded "a bastion of player creativity" since its first closed beta, "with people creating castles, dungeons, mazes, mini games", and present the new Adventure Sharing section in the main menu as "a first step" toward adventures with "puzzles, traps, and even spawning your own enemies".

How to browse and visit shared worlds

Choose Adventure Sharing from the main menu, pick an adventure, then play it solo or host it for friends. You can "pick through tags and search for specific creations", Fiona explains. Keen's 1.0 press material lists the ways in: Popular Adventures, tags, Share Codes "to find specific Adventures", and subscriptions to favorite worlds (Keen, Oct 8, 2026). Forging the Path's patch notes add upvotes and visits "either alone or as a party in a peer-to-peer session" (Keen).

1.0 improved the menu: every row has a "show more" button, a new category highlights chosen adventures, creators have more tags, votes can be taken back, and a world's name, details and voting are available during the visit (1.0 changelog). The store page promises "worlds and dungeons created by millions of players" (Steam).

In the first version of Apr 2026, a visit was "a sightseeing tour": "You can't pick up items, interact with enemies, or gain XP. Nothing of consequence can happen", in Fiona's words. Sparkworks is what 1.0 added on top, so that shared worlds hold traps, enemies and puzzles to play through.

How to upload your world

To share, open Adventure Sharing, go to My Uploads and choose Create New, then pick one of your worlds and add tags, a description and screenshots taken with "the new camera item"; click Create and the world is up. Any world can also be uploaded from the single player and multiplayer hosting menus (Keen).

Three things to prepare first, from Keen's patch notes:

  • The camera: craft it at the workbench and take the screenshots in the game.
  • The arrival point: on every world, one Flame Altar can be set as the starting point for visitors, with a toggle at the altar.
  • Tags: they decide which searches find you; 1.0 added more of them.

See the Building Guide for what makes a base worth visiting.

What Sparkworks is

Sparkworks is "the nifty name for the family of interactive functions players can utilize to make their worlds truly playable, not just viewable", Keen's press release says, with examples like a lever that spawns an enemy, a plate that opens a secret hallway, or a room marked "DO NOT ENTER, RISK OF EXPLOSION" (Keen, Oct 8, 2026). The 1.0 changelog says it is reached "by crafting a new set of tools and interactive props", and that a 2D graph editor shows every input, output, connection and rule (1.0 changelog).

A new crafting station builds the Switchbox, the Sparkworks Tool, buttons, levers and traps. A Switchbox is "a handy place to visually access the graph" it is linked to, but it can open any graph in the area, and the Tool opens graphs directly; inputs and outputs anywhere in the base can be connected and renamed. Keen says there is a tutorial in the game.

Part What it does
Switchbox Holds and shows a logic graph
Sparkworks Tool Opens graphs and connects inputs to outputs
Triggers Trigger zones, pressure plates, levers, buttons
Hold and clock Keep a signal on for a time; pulse it on and off
Flank A brief "on" pulse that turns itself off
NOT, OR and other gates Invert signals and combine conditions
Outcomes Doors and trap doors, spikes, lightning, water dispensers and drains, lights, enemy spawns

The parts are named in Keen's video and in its press release, which lists "clocks, blocks, and logic gates (NOT, OR, etc.)".

Keen's example dungeon, room by room

Spike hallway. A pressure plate sends a signal held on for 5.5 seconds; a NOT splits it so the middle spikes are never up with the others, and the signal flips every 1.5 seconds. A second connection keeps the end gate open for 5 seconds, a little shorter "because the gate needs time to close". Keen made it symmetrical so players can read the pattern.

Enemy room. Passing through a trigger area starts a chain of nodes, one per enemy, that spawn skeletons you must defeat to go on. "You can spawn any enemy, as long as it's an enemy you've killed before, and it's not one of the game's unique bosses, because we think they should be unique."

Jumping, water and lightning. The jumping puzzle reuses the hallway's trigger, hold, clock and NOT, with an OR gate joining start and end so everything switches off when you arrive. In the water room a trigger turns on the water dispensers, "and all of a sudden you're on a timer, drowning"; a lever opens the door, a button stops the water and the drains empty the room. The lightning section fires bursts from a fast timer until two buttons are pressed together.

Keen uploaded this dungeon to Adventure Sharing so players can "take your own look under the hood" and reuse the ideas, and promised more functions later, "like a reset mechanic". The video closes on contraptions by a closed-beta player: a working clock, an elevator of secret doors, a secret staircase.

Ideas Keen suggests

The 1.0 changelog lists light switches, dungeons with traps and puzzles, enemy encounters, "a challenging parkour level, or battle arenas, escape rooms". Keen's own prank on Oct 8, 2026: replace the bridge to your base with trap doors that open when someone steps on it, "and just didn't tell your friends" (Keen). Water puzzles use the dispensers, drains and gates from Wake of the Water, covered in the Building Guide.

Keen's 1.0 highlights put it in one line: "A lever can open a hidden passage. A pressure plate can trigger a trap or spawn enemies", and "You decide how someone makes their way through it and what happens when they press that suspicious lever."

What Keen says comes next

The plan was public by Jan 21, 2026, when creative director Antony Christoulakis promised for 1.0 "an advanced version of adventure sharing where we add logic elements, spawners, traps, and more", and Keen's community lead likened the logic system to the one in Keen's earlier game Portal Knights ("to some degree", Christoulakis answered).

CEO Jan Jöckel at launch: "With Sparkworks and Adventure Sharing, we're also taking the first steps toward letting players create and share adventures of their own" (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). GamingBolt's 9/10 review of 1.0 counted Sparkworks' need for better tutorials among the game's weaknesses (GamingBolt, Oct 14, 2026).

Known issues and what is not known

Hotfix 1.0.0.1 broke the world Edit button for some players, and hotfix 1.0.0.2 of Oct 16, 2026 fixed world settings and improved the stability of subscribing in Adventure Sharing. Not stated by Keen as of Oct 20, 2026: whether PS5 players see PC uploads or the reverse (there is no cross-play at launch), any limit on uploads, or a date for the reset mechanic.
