Bosses

Enshrouded's named bosses, in rough order of progression, are the Fell Thunderbrute, the Scavenger Matron, the Fell Wispwyvern, the Hollow Cyclops, the Vukah Brawler, the Fell Monstrosity, the Fell Sicklescythe, the Fell Dragon Youngling, Hydrak'Dal and, at 1.0, the story's final boss in Cinder's Cradle. Since 1.0 bosses regain health slowly after you die instead of resetting.

The named bosses of Enshrouded, met roughly in this order, are the Fell Thunderbrute in the Springlands, the Scavenger Matron, the Fell Wispwyvern of Pikemead's Reach, the Hollow Cyclops of the Revelwood Hollow Halls, the Vukah Brawler, the Fell Monstrosity and Fell Sicklescythe of the Kindlewastes, the Fell Dragon Youngling of the Albaneve Summits, Hydrak'Dal of Veilwater Basin, and the final boss of Cinder's Cradle, added in 1.0 on Oct 15, 2026 and named only in the spoiler section below. Most guard an Elixir Well or the end of a dungeon, and most are Fell, beasts twisted by the Shroud. Keen's Beginner Tips (Feb 7, 2024) point out that "bosses give more XP per encounter" and that it can pay to visit them again "when they respawned"; Keen cut boss respawn timers to 30 minutes in February 2024 (Keen, Feb 9, 2024).

The early access Flame levels come from TheGamer (Feb 1, 2024); 1.0 changed the Flame recipes and cut the costs of Flame levels 6 to 9 (Keen, Oct 14, 2026), so the boss heads a recipe needs may differ now. Boss levels for 1.0 are not published, as of Oct 21, 2026. Each region's level is on Map and Regions.

Fell Thunderbrute

The first boss guards the first Elixir Well in the Springlands, and the Blacksmith sends you there (TheGamer, Jan 24, 2024). Game Rant's advice: it sweeps with its blade and kicks up close, and at range slams the ground to send shockwaves, so stay close, keep moving and hit its back (Game Rant, Jan 25, 2024). Full guide: Fell Thunderbrute.

Boss-type enemies drop weapons too. In Keen's Dev Update of Oct 23, 2025, senior game designer Christoph says many weapons were added to enemy drop pools, "from the fell thunder brute greatsword to the scavenger's fearsome acid cleaver", with drops scaling in level and rarity from common to legendary.

Scavenger Matron

Matrons lead Scavenger camps. PCGamesN recommends clearing the camp's wolves and Scavengers first and circling her, since she is slow but throws poison that leaves puddles (PCGamesN, Jan 25, 2024). Game Rant says to aim for the stomach because the head is armored, that she resists explosives and acid but takes cutting, fire, lightning and piercing damage well, and that the arena's explosive barrels can be used against her (Game Rant, Feb 25, 2024). Keen softened her poison more than once, and at 1.0 several of her attacks, the poison area attack especially, deal less damage (Keen, Oct 14, 2026); antidotes cure her poison. Other Matrons hold Raven's Keep and Ocean's Heart.

Fell Wispwyvern

Steam's achievement "Dethroned" asks you to "Defeat the shroud wyvern", and Keen calls it "our old friend the Shroud Wyvern" (Keen, Nov 25, 2025); the press names it the Fell Wispwyvern. It waits in a courtyard of the Imperial Gardens in Pikemead's Reach, the old capital in the northeast, reached by way of Huckster Square and a grappling-hook climb (Game Rant, Feb 26, 2024). Screen Rant lists its attacks as Shroud Swarm explosions, a frontal Shroud Breath, a tail whip and minions summoned from a glowing orb in its mouth; hitting that orb while it summons stuns it for about 10 seconds (Screen Rant, Mar 3, 2024). Use the pillars for cover.

Hollow Cyclops and the Vukah Brawler

The Hollow Cyclops ends the Revelwood Hollow Halls: it spawns skeletons, swings wide, casts a plunging spell and makes a delayed green ground smash, and tends to focus one player (TheGamer, Mar 30, 2024). The Vukah Brawler is the last fight of the Farmer's quest "A Beehive Smoker" at Vukah Sacrifice Hill, a boss Game Rant calls "pretty powerful" and suggests fighting with friends (Game Rant, Apr 25, 2024).

Fell Monstrosity and Fell Sicklescythe

Both Kindlewastes bosses are Fell. The Fell Monstrosity guards the chest of the Kindlewastes Elixir Well (Destructoid, May 20, 2025); Forging the Path fixed its weak points (Keen, Apr 21, 2026). The Fell Sicklescythe flies and teleports inside the Haunted Sun Temple, entered through the west cave of the Brittlebush Scavenger camp; the fight is in the Shroud, so DualShockers advises a Shroud Survival Flask and a bow or wand (DualShockers, Feb 7, 2024).

Fell Dragon Youngling

The dragon of the Albaneve Summits was for years the hardest fight in the game. In "Things we're fixing for 1.0" (Aug 19, 2026), Keen says it "has long been the last boss in the game, and for many, it has been less of a formidable foe and more of an impassable obstacle", and lists fixes for resets and for the boss getting stuck, a deeper arena and a new phase on the ground, over footage of the dragon over its snowy arena.

The 1.0 Update Highlights sum up the result under a spoiler warning: "The Fell Dragon Youngling has a larger arena with fixes for resets and getting stuck. A new phase gives many fighters more opportunity to engage." Keen's changelog adds a big health cut, grapple anchors, a weak point on its back for all weapons and better stun arrows and shock damage (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). Full guide: Fell Dragon Youngling.

Hydrak'Dal

Hydrak'Dal leads the Drak of Veilwater Basin and is tied to the quest "Emerald Shores And Sanguine Seas"; Keen's patch notes fixed its loot, collision and health (Keen, Nov 13, 2025; Keen, Nov 25, 2025). No reputable press guide to the fight was found, as of Oct 21, 2026.

Rules that apply to every boss

Since 1.0 a wipe no longer wastes the damage you did. In "Things we're fixing for 1.0" the narrator says "dying will no longer immediately reset the health of the enemies you are fighting. Instead, they will slowly regain their health", so "a death in a tough fight doesn't always mean a complete do-over". Bosses and elites drop Legendary Runes (Keen, May 13, 2025); group play raises the chance of bonus loot (Keen, Feb 9, 2024); and 1.0 added head trophies for every heavy-class enemy, with boss trophies worth high comfort (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). The world settings include boss difficulty options (Keen, Nov 10, 2025). Tactics in general are on Combat, and what the boss heads do on Flame Altar and Flame Levels.

Spoiler: the final boss

This section names the final boss of Enshrouded 1.0.

Keen's changelog says that in Cinder's Cradle, "High up in the sky, evil is hiding its strongest champion yet", and that "besting the biggest threat to the peace of Embervale will unlock yet another level of the Flame", Flame level 11 (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). Steam's one hidden achievement, "A new North Star", reads "Defeat Lord Vorgoth." (Steam, read Oct 20, 2026), which makes Lord Vorgoth the final boss. His name was in the game before 1.0: a lore sword "connected to Lord Vorgoth" became a greatsword in November 2025 (Keen, Nov 25, 2025). No reputable press guide to the fight had been published by Oct 21, 2026. The story around it is on Story and Lore.
