Revelwood

Revelwood (Keen also writes "the Revelwoods") is Enshrouded's dark forest region north of the Springlands, for levels 11 to 15 at 1.0, with copper, the town of Willow Crush, the Revelwood Hollow Halls and its Hollow Cyclops, and the passage to the Blackmire.

Revelwood is Enshrouded's second region, a dense, dark forest north of the Springlands for characters of about level 11 to 15, where you find copper for your first bronze tools, the town of Willow Crush and the Revelwood Hollow Halls, and from where a passage leads into the Blackmire. Keen writes both "Revelwood" and "the Revelwoods"; its press release speaks of "the shadowed depths of The Revelwood" (Keen, Jun 25, 2026). Keen has kept improving it: the first update, Hollow Halls (Mar 26, 2024), "reworked one of our towns, Willow Crush, that you can explore as well as some of our locations", its highlights video says. The levels are from Destructoid's 1.0 guide (Oct 17, 2026).

How to get to Revelwood

Revelwood is guarded by red Shroud. "Red shroud ... means your flame level is too low for that zone and stepping into it spells immediate doom", Keen's beginner tips say; strengthening the Flame at your altar unlocks parts of the map so you can progress safely. In early access the canyon from the Springlands into Revelwood was deadly below Flame level 3 (GamesRadar+, Jan 30, 2024), and TheGamer found two ways in: through the Shroud with Flame level 2 or 3, or around the eastern rim from the Mistbury Catacombs (TheGamer, Feb 16, 2024). 1.0 reworked roads and Shroud areas, so treat these as a guide, not a rule. The Flame Altar and Flame Levels page explains upgrading the Flame.

Places

  • Willow Crush, the town Keen reworked in its first update (Keen).
  • The Ancient Spire, north of the Mistbury Catacombs near Diadwyn in early access (TheGamer).
  • Glenwood's End, beside a waterfall with a secret alcove, and the Blue Goblet Tavern on a sunny hilltop with ore and clay nearby, both PC Gamer picks for a 1.0 base (PC Gamer, Oct 20, 2026); PC Gamer's writer finds the thick foliage "too dark for my taste".
  • Pikemead's Reach, the ruined capital in the northeast where the Fell Wispwyvern waits. Screen Rant places it in Revelwood (Mar 3, 2024); Keen does not say which region it belongs to. See Bosses.

Copper and other resources

Revelwood's main draw is ore. Better pickaxes "let you mine more and faster", Keen's tips say, and "mines are often noted on your map". Copper, reddish ore with green flecks, is found in Revelwood around its Ancient Spire; in early access a scrappy pickaxe could mine it but a copper pickaxe was faster (GamesRadar+, Jan 30, 2024). Copper with tin from the Nomad Highlands makes bronze (TheGamer, Feb 25, 2024). 1.0 upgraded Revelwood's hardwood, added a Revelwood tree that had been missing from the crafting recipes, and added skewer recipes for the Revelwood tier (1.0 changelog). The Farmer's overgrowth tool is crafted from Revelwood materials (Keen, Jan 28, 2025). See Materials and Ores.

Some things appear only after dark. Thralls of Twilight (May 13, 2025) made "Nighttime no longer nap-time", with enemy patrols, temples that open only at night and night-only plants and resources, Keen's video says; its patch notes add that moths live in the Revelwoods and can only be collected at night (Keen).

The Shroud and Shroud Roots

Revelwood's lowlands and canyons lie under The Shroud. In early access TheGamer counted 6 open-world Shroud Roots and 4 in Elixir Wells here (Feb 9, 2024); 1.0 changed the map, so the in-game achievement "Revelwood weeding" is the reliable checklist.

The Revelwood Hollow Halls

The Revelwood Hollow Halls came with the first update. Its enemies go up to level 15, and its boss is the Hollow Cyclops, which summons skeletons, swings wide and ends with a delayed green ground smash; TheGamer suggests level 17 or 18 with a partner (TheGamer, Mar 30, 2024). Keen said in Spring 2024 that the Halls hold "a new and unique type of weapon that we call sacred", with longer reach "to better handle big groups of enemies". The Cyclops drops its head and Giant Bones, which the Collector needs for later Bone Keys (Game Rant, Apr 21, 2024). See Hollow Halls.

The way to the Blackmire

The Blackmire is "a new area in the north of the Revelwoods where everything is a little bit bigger", Keen's Melodies of the Mire video said on Jun 5, 2024, for players "around level 13 to 15". Keen's patch notes put it "nested in a corner of the Revelwoods", reached by "a new passage" in "the far north of Revelwood" (Keen). The Blackmire has its own page.

What changed at 1.0

1.0 reworked the opening hours, Keen's highlights say, with "more chests" for trying weapons and roads and camps adjusted so players find their way; the changelog names Revelwood with the Springlands for the extra loot chests (1.0 changelog).

The changelog also reworked Revelwood's terrain, plants and forest density ("even the prettiest biomes still deserve a glow-up"), after Forging the Path had already made the Revelwood and Blackmire forests as dense as Veilwater's with new tree models (Keen, Apr 21, 2026). For rangers, the Revelwood tier now has one craftable ranged set and one craftable dagger set, and the Marksman set became loot in Revelwood chests. Once you outgrow the forest, the Nomad Highlands (15 to 20) lie east.
