1:22 Enshrouded launched on PlayStation 5 on Oct 15, 2026, the same day as the PC 1.0 release, for $39.99 (Deluxe Edition $49.99), labeled PS5 Pro Enhanced, with a 60 fps Performance mode and a 30 fps Quality mode, a 60 fps PSSR 2.0 mode on PS5 Pro, DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers, and online co-op for up to 8 players with PS Plus; there is no cross-play with PC. It was the game's console debut: Keen Games' launch trailer closes on an end card with the key art, the date "October 15, 2026" and the PS5 logo beside Steam's. The game itself is the same as on PC, the full 1.0 described on What's New in 1.0.

Modes and performance

The PS5 version offers two modes on a standard PS5: Performance at 60 fps and Quality at 30 fps. On PS5 Pro, Keen's press release describes "60 fps in a Dedicated Mode that combines performance & quality thanks to the use of PSSR 2.0", Sony's upscaler. Creative Director Antony Christoulakis told Wccftech before launch that it would run at 60 fps on both consoles; the press release, which came later, adds the 30 fps Quality mode on the base PS5. Christoulakis also told CGMagazine the PS5 version has "feature parity with PC".

7:06 Consoles skip a step that slows PCs. In Keen's 1.0 performance video, the engine team explains that each PC's graphics driver must translate the game's shaders after every update or driver change, while "this is not an issue on consoles because the same console model all share the same hardware", so Keen compiles them in advance and ships the final code; the video closes with the release "on PC and PlayStation 5 on October 15th". The 1.0 work on the brick renderer, lighting and memory applies to both platforms (Platforms and System Requirements).

Controls and the DualSense

The PS5 version supports full haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Keen's press release says swinging a greatsword through Fell enemies, aiming a bow, chipping at ore deep in the Shroud or "feeling a storm roll in over the Nomad Highlands" each "carries its own distinct vibration" (Keen). Christoulakis told Wccftech it also uses gyro aiming and gliding, and the touchpad to scroll the map. The PlayStation Store lists full controller remapping, stick sensitivity and inversion, adjustable difficulty, pausing offline and subtitle options. 1.0's controller changes on every platform include triggers that respond at half press (except for ranged combat and fishing) and new aim assist settings (changelog).

Multiplayer on PS5

Online co-op on PS5 is for up to 8 players and needs a PS Plus membership, against up to 16 on PC. PS5 players play only with PS5 players: "Enshrouded will not be cross-platform at launch", Keen wrote on Oct 13, 2026, adding that it is working on cross-play "but have no current estimate". No cross-progression between PC and PS5 has been announced. Keen's dedicated server tool is a Windows program on Steam, and Keen documents no way for PS5 players to join one (Dedicated Servers). Whether Adventure Sharing's shared worlds cross between platforms has not been stated officially. See Multiplayer and Co-op.

Editions and price

The PS5 Standard Edition costs $39.99, the Deluxe Edition $49.99. The Deluxe Edition adds three exclusive Class Outfit Packs, a digital artbook, a printable high-resolution map of Embervale and the Original Soundtrack; the soundtrack is not part of the Steam Deluxe Upgrade Pack. Both had 10% off at launch until Oct 29, 2026 (the US store labels it a PS Plus discount). No physical edition and no PS Plus catalog inclusion had been announced as of Oct 20, 2026 (PlayStation Blog search). Every price is on Price and Editions.

Reviews on PS5

Three PS5 reviews were on Metacritic on Oct 20, 2026, too few for a Metascore ("tbd"): PC Games 90, TheSixthAxis 90 and Jeuxvideo.com 85 (Metacritic). PlayStation Store users rated it 4.79 out of 5 from about 1,908 ratings the same day. The PC reviews are on Reception and Players.

A long-promised console release

4:24 Consoles were promised from the start ("Yes, but later," Keen wrote in November 2023). In the Road to Release video of Jan 21, 2026, Christoulakis listed a review of the start of the game, polishing and balancing, and "last but not least, there will be a console release"; the community lead asked fans to leave a "consoles when" in the comments. The Jun 25, 2026 date reveal named PS5 and PS5 Pro and moved Xbox Series X|S to spring 2027.

4:10 Keen's "Things we're fixing for 1.0" video (Aug 19, 2026) ends with the hope that players are "excited for this game's release out of early access and onto PlayStation 5 on October 15th". At gamescom that August, part of the team was "demoing ... the PS5 version" to press (Keen, Aug 27, 2026).

What is not known

As of Oct 21, 2026, Keen has published no PS5 sales or player numbers, no PS5-specific patch notes, and no official trophy list; Steam's 58 achievements are the PC list. When cross-play will arrive is also unknown.
