Lord Vorgoth

This page names Enshrouded's final boss. Lord Vorgoth is the last boss of the 1.0 main quest, fought in two forms (Vorgoth, Champion of the Shroud, then Vorgoth, The Wanderer's Vessel) on a rooftop high in the sky over Cinder's Cradle; beating him earns the hidden achievement "A new North Star" and unlocks Flame level 11.

This page names the final boss of Enshrouded: Lord Vorgoth, the last fight of the 1.0 main quest, waiting in the Ancients' capital high in the sky over Cinder's Cradle and fought in two forms, first as "Vorgoth, Champion of the Shroud" and then as "Vorgoth, The Wanderer's Vessel". Steam's hidden achievement "A new North Star" reads "Defeat Lord Vorgoth." (Steam), and Keen Games' changelog for the Oct 15, 2026 release calls him evil's "strongest champion yet", hidden "high up in the sky" (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). In Apex's video of Oct 14, 2026, made on a 1.0 build Keen gave him early, the boss bar reads "Vorgoth, Champion of the Shroud" over a round stone arena ringed by iron railings, blue ice crystals rise around the floor, and Apex says "I just have to destroy them all. Get shield down." Only 0.4% of Enshrouded's Steam owners had beaten him by Oct 26, 2026 (Steam).

Where to find Lord Vorgoth

Vorgoth waits at the very end of the main quest. In AllThingsHow's account (updated Oct 19, 2026), the Ancient Researcher of Cinder's Cradle gives "Cinders Of The End" once all six Beacon Dungeons are cleared, which powers the teleport platform at Cinder's Ascent. Its objectives are "Travel to Cinder's Ascent with the Teleport Platform", "Reach The Ancient Capital", "Defeat Vorgoth" and "Rescue The Mother Flame" (AllThingsHow). The steps that lead there are on Main Quest Walkthrough.

The researcher points you at the highest island. In Apex's video, after the Beacon Dungeons, the researcher tells him the way to the Flying Isles is open and that the Ancients' capital rose highest, where the Mother Flame is and whatever threatens her; on arrival the quest text says the islands "are already under attack from the shroud", which is "creeping towards the mother flame". AllThingsHow's route crosses the sky islands on air currents to the Ancient Citadel (fast travel point "Cinder's Cradle - Citadel" at its bridge), then through Mother Flame's Domicile to an elevator teleport platform up to the rooftop arena (AllThingsHow).

The road is guarded. Apex runs into an Ancient construct mini boss on the islands that can "send a barrage of missiles at you that can take half your HP instantly"; as a mage he drops a protective barrier and spams his eternal fireball until it falls, then regrets not placing a portal first. AllThingsHow names one such guardian the Ancient S.P.D.R. Construct and puts two level 45 constructs at the citadel's gates (AllThingsHow).

Phase 1: Vorgoth, Champion of the Shroud

The first form is human-sized. AllThingsHow describes an ice greatsword, frost shockwaves sent across the floor, and Shroud wraiths he summons so that the arena keeps refilling with adds (AllThingsHow).

The first form is a dodging test more than a damage race. Apex finds that "it don't look like it actually has that many attacks", watches for a lunge, and guesses correctly that the second form comes at half health; when he tries to smash the tentacles around the arena he finds "I don't think I can do any damage. I've just got to wait".

The champion heals. Apex shouts "He's healing" partway through, wonders whether something in the arena must be broken to stop it, decides it need not, and keeps up the pressure from range until the form falls.

Phase 2: Vorgoth, The Wanderer's Vessel

The second form is a monster. When the champion falls, the boss bar changes to "Vorgoth, The Wanderer's Vessel", and Apex's footage shows a huge tentacled shape in a dark blue arena glowing with Shroud; Apex asks "Where's the other guy?" and says "I don't think I'm going to die to him. I think I'm going to die to the shrouds", hunting for a spot outside the fog. AllThingsHow lists frost eruptions, sweeping energy beams, ground shockwaves and summoned minions, and fought it with wand projectiles from range (AllThingsHow).

Dying is not the end of the attempt. Apex does fall in the second phase ("You have fallen..." fills the screen), and when he gets back he says "Look at his health, dude. His health is still so low." That is the 1.0 rule: bosses regain health slowly after you die instead of resetting at once.

Keen's 1.0 Update Highlights video explains the rule: "Enemies no longer regain all their health instantly when you die. So coming back for another attempt at the boss doesn't mean starting from scratch." Place a Flame Altar or a portal near the citadel first, so the run back is short (Flame Altar and Flame Levels).

Arrive at the top of the level range, with gear upgraded. Destructoid puts Cinder's Cradle at levels 45 to 50 (Oct 17, 2026), the 1.0 level cap is 50 and gear goes to 55, and Keen's own advice for the region is "Bring your best gear, upgrade it, cook the most efficient food before testing your mettle against these new formidable guardians" (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). AllThingsHow's run reached the boss at about level 43 (AllThingsHow), so level 50 is a comfort, not a rule. Gear by playstyle is on Best Builds, Mage Build, Warrior Build and Ranger Build.

  • Watch your Shroud timer. The second phase is fought in the Shroud, and 1.0 cut the stacking of Shroud time extensions while adding more hourglass capsules (Keen). Apex's fear was the fog, not the boss. More on The Shroud.
  • Ranged damage is safest in phase 2. Both creator and press accounts fought the Vessel from range; melee fighters should keep combos short and roll out of the shockwaves.
  • Bring healing and bombs, and clear the adds. Apex went in with "a load of meds" and "a load of bombs"; the champion's wraiths refill the arena.
  • Use the death rule. A wipe keeps most of the damage you did, so a second try is shorter than the first.

Rewards

Vorgoth drops a legendary greatsword. Apex loots "the Shroud Vessel's Greatsword" from the body, and the quest marker then says "Commune with the flame": the quest is not done until you use the Flame altar in the arena for "Rescue The Mother Flame". AllThingsHow lists the drops as Vorgoth's Bound Essence (it teaches the recipes for the greatsword and two Soulbound pieces, made at the Ancient Researcher), Vorgoth's Eye trophy and the greatsword (Shroud and cutting damage, item level 1 to 55), and the quest reward as Vorgoth's Soulbound Crown (mage) and Gloves (ranger), both legendary at item level 45, and 3,200 XP (AllThingsHow). See Legendary Weapons.

The lasting reward is the Flame. Beating "the biggest threat to the peace of Embervale" unlocks Flame level 11, which raises the Flame Altar limit to 16 and lets altars push back the Shroud "in areas formerly unreachable" (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). The outro slides that follow are covered on Ending Explained.

Lord Vorgoth in the lore

Vorgoth was in the game long before 1.0: Keen's patch notes of Nov 25, 2025 turned "the lore sword connected to Lord Vorgoth" into a greatsword (Keen), and Cinder's Cradle adds lore quests that follow his notes, "Hearing Voices" and "Vorgoth's Ruminations" (AllThingsHow, Oct 22, 2026). Keen has not published who he was; the outro after the fight says only that Embervale "is freed of the Wanderer's grasp" (Ending Explained). The other bosses are on Bosses.
