Warrior Build
A warrior build in Enshrouded 1.0 puts its skill points into the Strength side of the tree (Barbarian, Warrior and Athlete) and fights with a greatsword or other two-handed weapon, or a one-handed weapon and shield, on Strength and Constitution. The 1.0 guides build it around Two-Handed Specialization, Titan Edge, Blood Rage, Crash Down Attack, Battle Heal and Veteran, with Blacksmith armor and melee-damage food.
A warrior build in Enshrouded 1.0 is a melee character that spends its points in the Strength areas of the skill tree (Barbarian for two-handed weapons, Warrior for one-handed ones, Athlete for jump attacks) and raises Strength for damage and Constitution for health. His & Hers Gaming's 1.0 greatsword build (Oct 22, 2026) ranks Strength, Constitution and Endurance in that order: "strength is how much damage we do, constitution is how much damage we can take", and endurance is how long you keep swinging. There is no warrior class to pick: the 1.0 tree lets you favor melee "without being locked into a single class" (Keen Games, Oct 14, 2026). Below are the two melee routes of the 1.0 guides (Oct 15 to 27, 2026), each tip naming its guide; Best Builds compares all playstyles, Skill Tree explains the tree, Combat the moves and Tank Build the shield tank.

What 1.0 changed for melee
Most of today's melee kit arrived in Update 8 (Apr 21, 2026) and was tuned in 1.0. Keen's Update 8 highlights list heavy attacks on a held button, special abilities charged by a focus bar, and new two-handed attack chains so that greatswords offer a "clearing the room type of solution". The 1.0 changelog then let heavy melee attacks hit several close enemies, fixed two-handed axes whose second hit and whirlwind "could miss sometimes", made stamina recover while blocking, and moved Veteran, One-Handed Specialization and the dagger skills while changing many skill costs (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). Guides from before Oct 15, 2026 may list skill positions and costs that no longer hold.
Two-handed build: greatsword, axe or hammer
The two-handed warrior is the 1.0 guides' big-damage melee build. Greatswords came with Wake of the Water (Nov 10, 2025), together with a two-handed skill that gives the "spin to win" attack, which the guides call Whirlwind Crescendo. Two-handed weapons also have the highest base damage of any type at each item level: 73 at item level 26 against 49 for a one-handed weapon (Allthings. How, Oct 24, 2026). See Weapon Tier List.
The skills the 1.0 guides agree on sit in the Barbarian and Athlete areas. His & Hers Gaming takes them in this order once it reaches the Barbarian area: Barbarian's Path maxed, Two-Handed Specialization, Titan Edge maxed at once "cuz we are using great swords", Relentless, Blood Rage, Whirlwind Crescendo, Heavy Hitter for swing speed, then the Barbarian node, which lifts its Strength from 15 to 20 on screen. What each does:
- Titan Edge (3 ranks): greatsword damage, 15% on its own (Hack The Minotaur, Oct 26, 2026).
- Blood Rage (3 ranks): melee damage for 10 seconds after a kill, 15% for Allthings. How and GameWith, 20% for Hack The Minotaur.
- Whirlwind Crescendo (3 points): a spin after four chained hits, 75 stamina (Hack The Minotaur).
- Barbarian (5 points): +1 Strength per two Flame levels (Allthings.How, Oct 21, 2026).
- Crash Down Attack and Crash Down: Force (Athlete): a jump strike at +50% weapon damage, +20% after a double jump (Allthings.How).
GameWith rates this "Crash Down Two-Hander" its strongest 1.0 melee build (SS tier): open fights with a double jump into a Crash Down slam, which hits groups and costs only stamina, on a core of about 12 points (GameWith, Oct 27, 2026). His & Hers Gaming takes Crash Down Attack and Crash Down: Force early for the same reason, "so we can do 20% more damage" from a jump, and Upwards Slash Attack for enemies in the air. KeenGamer's 1.0 "Best Heavy Melee" build is the same idea with the Champion's Axe, Two-Handed Specialization, Whirlwind Crescendo, Battle Heal and Blood Rage, and a Gem of Bleeding (KeenGamer, Oct 17, 2026).
Healing comes from critical hits. His & Hers Gaming maxes Battle Heal "so crits can heal us" and then Veteran "because we obviously want to crit as much as possible", with armor and two Ancient Rings of Health pushing both past their normal limit. Allthings. How's 1.0 greatsword build uses the same Battle Heal and Veteran loop and adds the parry skills Bash, Breach (+100% melee physical damage to an overpowered enemy for 3 seconds), Power Parry, Opportunity and Merciless Attack (Allthings. How, Oct 21, 2026). Guides disagree on Battle Heal's size: 1% of maximum health per rank for Allthings. How, 5% for Hack The Minotaur, so read the tooltip in game.
One-handed build: sword or club and shield
The one-handed warrior trades damage for safety: it blocks, parries and finishes stunned enemies. In Keen's Update 8 combat video, designer David calls the heavy attack a one-on-one or small-group tool that deals more damage and stamina damage; Keen's notes give it double damage and double stun (Keen, Apr 21, 2026), and a full stun bar opens the enemy to a Merciless Attack.
KeenGamer calls this its "Best Solo Melee" build for 1.0: Veteran, Battle Heal, One-Handed Specialization, Power Parry and Merciless Attack with Vesztah's Mace and the Crestflame Shield (KeenGamer, Oct 17, 2026). Power Up Gaming's adds Warrior's Path, Swift Blades, Steadfast and Heavy Plates (Power Up Gaming, Oct 17, 2026). GameWith rates this "One-Hander and Shield Parry" AA, strong against bosses and slow against groups, around Merciless Attack (+500% damage), Opportunity, Power Parry, Breach, Vigorous Deflection and Shockwave (GameWith, Oct 27, 2026).
Hack The Minotaur ranks the one-handed warrior last of the seven builds in its Oct 18, 2026 video (seventh of nine on its site). It calls the sword-and-shield warrior "by far the simplest play style", good early for its blocking and sweeping slashes, but says the benefits "quickly drop off" and most warriors move on to a bow, a wand or a two-hander by the mid to late game.
Attributes
Allthings. How's early warrior guide gives each Strength point +5% melee damage (Oct 24, 2026). The 1.0 greatsword guides put Strength first and Constitution second, since Battle Heal heals a share of maximum health, plus Endurance for stamina (Hack The Minotaur, Oct 26, 2026; Allthings. How, Oct 21, 2026). Athlete adds health that scales with Strength (Allthings.How).
Armor
Warrior sets carry "the highest physical armor across all classes" (Keen, Apr 21, 2026), and the damage warrior's sets differ from the tank's: in Keen's gear video, designer Christoph says "the Warrior Tank armor is tankier than the Warrior Fighter". Since 1.0 every Flame upgrade unlocks the next tier's craftable sets (Keen, Oct 14, 2026); the full list is on Armor Sets.
Each region's tier brings a new set with the same skill perks, so you can follow one line of armor through the game. His & Hers Gaming shows the Adventurer set as the first to look for, then the Mercenary and Mountain's Shadow sets, all carrying the same skill nodes as its tree, and advises checking each new region's set for the perks your build uses. The sets the 1.0 guides name for a damage warrior, from early to late:
| Stage | Set | What the guide gives |
|---|---|---|
| Flame 1 to 3 | Fur, Rising Fighter, Adventurer (Blacksmith) | Melee critical chance on the helmet, health on chest and legs (Allthings. How) |
| Found in chests | Warrior set | +63% Merciless Attack damage on the helmet, +6% one-handed damage on the arms (Allthings. How) |
| Flame 8 (Veilwater Basin) | Sunpiercer helmet and chestplate, Greatsword Gauntlets | 13% melee critical chance, +360 health, 21% greatsword damage (Allthings. How) |
| Cinder's Cradle | Emberguard set | 14% melee critical chance, +420 health (Hack The Minotaur); KeenGamer spells it "Emerguard" |
Food
Warriors eat for melee damage, stamina and health. His & Hers Gaming's endgame plate is Grandleaf Cabbage Rolls (+320 health and stamina regeneration), Aurora Bean Rice (24% melee damage), Fish Tacos and Black Coffee (+6% melee damage), "a total of 30% extra melee damage when stacking all four". Hack The Minotaur's greatsword build eats nearly the same four, with Popcorn for the fish, through the Dessert Stomach skill's fourth slot (Oct 26, 2026). Early on, Update 8 added three meat skewer recipes to personal crafting that give "each combat class access to a main attribute boost early in the game" (Keen, Apr 21, 2026). Recipes are on Food and Cooking.
Leveling path to 50
This path stitches together the 1.0 guides above; the stages follow the regions in Progression Guide. His & Hers Gaming's video is built the same way, as a skill order you can follow "from level 1 to level 50", coming back to the tree at every level-up and opening with Double Jump, Spirit, Mana Currents and Updraft for exploring the Springlands.
- Levels 1 to 10 (Springlands). Craft a Club and a Wooden Shield, then a Scrappy Sword or Spiked Club at the Blacksmith; in 1.0 your first level-up comes with the first Flame Altar and the second when you free the Blacksmith (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). Take Double Jump, then Allthings. How's first points: Warrior's Path, Heavy Plates, Power Parry, Merciless Attack, Opportunity and Veteran.
- Levels 10 to 25 (Revelwood, Nomad Highlands). Greatswords can drop from chests from the first region on (Keen, Nov 10, 2025); then take Two-Handed Specialization, Titan Edge, Blood Rage and the Crash Down pair, in the Adventurer set.
- Levels 25 to 40 (Kindlewastes, Albaneve Summits, Veilwater Basin). Add Battle Heal, Veteran and Slasher for the critical-heal loop, then Whirlwind Crescendo and Heavy Hitter. At Flame 8, craft the Sunpiercer pieces and the Guard Of The North Sword (Allthings.How).
- Levels 40 to 50 (Cinder's Cradle). Finish Breach and Bash for boss parries, Dessert Stomach, and Grounding Hook and Giant Slayer Hook against flyers (Allthings. How's order), then move to the Emberguard set and upgrade toward level 55.
Respeccing costs 1 rune per spent point at a Flame Altar, so trying the other route is cheap. The 1.0 guides also carry a bow or staff for flyers and puzzles (Ranger Build, Mage Build); a co-op warrior pairs well with a Healer Build, and upgrades and named weapons are on Weapons and Legendary Weapons.

Best BuildsThe best Enshrouded builds commit to one playstyle for roughly the first dozen levels, then branch out. At 1.0 the main routes are the greatsword or two-handed warrior, the shield tank, the bow and dagger ranger, the staff and wand mage that 1.0 strengthened most, the battlemage and the healer, each tied to the survivor who upgrades its gear. -
Skill TreeEnshrouded has no fixed classes. Every Flameborn spends skill points (2 per level-up, 1 per Shroud Root, 3 per Elixir Well; about 212 at most in 1.0 by guides' count) in one shared tree whose areas the 1.0 menu labels Survivor, Beastmaster, Ranger, Assassin, Trickster, Athlete, Barbarian, Warrior, Guardian, Battlemage and Healer, and can respec at a Flame Altar for runes. -
CombatEnshrouded's combat is real-time third-person action on a stamina bar: light attacks and hold-to-charge heavy attacks, blocking and parrying (some projectiles go back at the attacker), dodges and Blink with invulnerability frames, a stun bar that opens enemies to Merciless Attacks, and a focus bar for weapon special abilities. There is no PvP. -
Tank BuildA tank build in Enshrouded 1.0 holds a one-handed weapon and a shield, raises Constitution for health, and takes the Guardian skills Heavy Plates, Tower, Warden, Thick Skin and Earth Aura with Nemesis and Arch Nemesis to draw enemies off allies. There is no taunt button: threat comes from those skills, damage and parries, and 1.0 made stamina recover while you block.
-
Weapon Tier ListKeen Games publishes no tier list for Enshrouded. The 1.0 tier lists of Oct 15 to 27, 2026 put two-handed melee, the bow and the wand-and-shield battlemage at the top, the one-handed parry warrior just below, and daggers, the tank and the healer lower, while agreeing that the best weapon of any kind is the highest-level, most-upgraded one you can get. -
Armor SetsArmor in Enshrouded comes in warrior, ranger and mage sets for each tier of the world: crafted sets are always rare quality, looted ones range from common to legendary, and all of them are upgraded with runes at the class survivor to unlock perks. Since 1.0 each Flame upgrade unlocks the next tier's craftable sets, armor can cut damage by up to 80%, and any piece can be tinted or hidden behind vanity.
