Vukah Brawler
The Vukah Brawler is the big, hard-hitting leader of Enshrouded's Vukah camps and an optional quest boss; the first most players meet is on Vukah Ceremony Hill in the Low Meadows, the boss of the Carpenter's quest "Vukah Ceremony", and another at Vukah Sacrifice Hill ends the Farmer's "A Beehive Smoker". Its leaping dive is the attack to fear: roll toward it, not away.
The Vukah Brawler is the boss of the Vukah, Enshrouded's forest dwellers who "look friend-shaped, but are quite vicious" (Keen Games, Jun 5, 2024): a heavy brute that leads their large camps and ends two side quests. The first most players meet stands in an arena on top of Vukah Ceremony Hill in the Low Meadows, the southeast of the Springlands, as the only objective of the Carpenter's quest "Vukah Ceremony" (AllThingsHow, Oct 16, 2026; Gamer Guides, updated May 22, 2024). JustSoup's 1.0 guide (Oct 21, 2026) starts there too, on the hill "directly southeast from the Ancient Spire", in an arena inside a ring of rocks. Another, at Vukah Sacrifice Hill, stole the Farmer's honey in "A Beehive Smoker" (Game Rant, Apr 25, 2024). The Brawler is optional: it gives materials and trophies but no Flame upgrade (AllThingsHow). The other bosses are on Bosses.

Where to find the Vukah Brawler
Vukah Ceremony Hill, Low Meadows. Activate the Low Meadows Ancient Spire, then glide southeast; the Brawler waits in a battle arena at the top of the hill, with lesser Vukah patrolling the slopes below (Gamer Guides). In 1.0 the Carpenter gives the quest "Vukah Ceremony" for it (AllThingsHow, Oct 16, 2026); in early access Gamer Guides found that the quest appeared once the Flame Altar reached level 2.
Vukah Sacrifice Hill. The Farmer's quest "A Beehive Smoker" starts at her old tavern, Emily's Tavern in Bittlebrush, follows a raided honey caravan to a dead Vukah, sends you through a Vukah group and ends at Vukah Sacrifice Hill against the Brawler who stole the honey. Game Rant calls him "pretty powerful" and suggests bringing friends (Game Rant, Apr 25, 2024); it does not say which region the hill is in.
The Nomad Highlands. AllThingsHow's 1.0 list adds Brawlers at Vukah Cave Pillar and the Vukah Arena in the Nomad Highlands (AllThingsHow). Their home is the Blackmire.
Attacks
Gamer Guides describes three moves (Gamer Guides):
- Dive, the most dangerous: when you are at range it lowers itself toward the ground, then leaps at you. "The dive will inflict massive damage, even to heavily armored builds." Sprinting sideways can work, but the reliable answer is to roll toward it at a slight angle: "the most effective method is actually to dive into the direction that the boss is coming from."
- Smash: a ground pound at melee range, often after it pounds its chest, a clear warning.
- Swipe: a sweep of its long arms at melee range, which needs more distance to escape than the smash.
JustSoup's 1.0 fight shows the same pattern with a different reading of the chest-beating. His attacks are "pretty, pretty extreme": "if he rolls and hits you, that will nearly kill you", and "whenever he beats his chest that means he's about to come at you in lunges", so "roll right around to the side of him" and hit him once or twice before he goes again. Between charges he stomps the ground several times, your moment to get to his side. Gamer Guides (2024) read the chest-pound as the warning for a smash, JustSoup (2026) as the start of his lunges: either way, it means move.
The smash and swipe do not track you, so stepping out of range is enough. The arena fights you too: mud patches slow you and stick to your boots, which makes rolling harder,. Gamer Guides warns that the Brawler "can hit incredibly hard and take you out in just a couple of hits".
How to beat the Vukah Brawler solo
JustSoup's first rule in 1.0 is to kill the small Vukah before the big one: "they're going to be the ones that are going to be healing him", and once they are dead "he has no way of regenerating any health".
- Eat and stock up. Food for strength, constitution and stamina, JustSoup advises, "cuz you're going to be sprinting around this arena for quite a bit of time", with healing potions and bandages on your bar.
- Clear the hill, healers first. Kill the lesser Vukah before the Brawler, since they heal him. Gamer Guides found they did not respawn until a relog, so you can leave, come back and fight the Brawler alone.
- Take the blessing. The stone totem at the back of the arena gives a Vukah blessing; in Gamer Guides' test it raised maximum health and stamina and slightly raised melee damage.
- Open with a sneak attack. Sneak attacks deal "a massive 10x damage to unaware enemies", so come at it from behind while it has not noticed you, or open with ranged shots.
- Stay off the mud and keep your stamina for rolls.
- Roll into the dive. When it crouches low, roll toward it at an angle, then punish it as it lands.
- Be patient. Hit once or twice after each charge, then get out; JustSoup calls it "a battle of patience" that takes a few minutes.
How to beat it in co-op
With two or more, keep the Brawler on one player while the others hit it from behind, and spread out: its dive comes at whoever is at range, so the ranged player watches for the crouch. The "Automatic" enemy setting added in 1.0 scales the number of enemies in each encounter to the party nearby (Keen, Oct 14, 2026), so a group draws a bigger Vukah escort. See Multiplayer and Co-op.
Recommended level, gear and builds
Keen publishes no boss levels. JustSoup found level 9 Vukah around the Low Meadows arena and recommends taking the Brawler on "at least level 10 to 15", since "he has a lot of health" (Oct 21, 2026). Destructoid rates the Springlands for levels 1 to 10 in 1.0 and the Nomad Highlands, with their stronger Brawlers, for 15 to 20 (Destructoid, Oct 17, 2026). A Ranger Build or Mage Build can hit it before it closes in; a Warrior Build or Tank Build should keep stamina for rolling into the dive, since even heavy armor does not shrug it off. Tactics in general are on Combat.
Rewards
In JustSoup's 1.0 kill the Brawler dropped its head, some animal fur and "a weapon or a piece of armor". The Carpenter's Brawler gives materials and a trophy, AllThingsHow says, and no Flame upgrade needs it (AllThingsHow). Since 1.0 every heavy-class enemy has a head trophy for your base (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). The Farmer's Brawler gives the Beehive Smoker; take it back to her and she can make Honey Beehives for wax and honey (Game Rant; Farming, Fishing and Animals).
What 1.0 changed
Keen's 1.0 changelog names no change to the Vukah Brawler itself (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). The Vukah were expanded in Melodies of the Mire on Jun 5, 2024, when their shamans learned to block melee (Keen, Jun 5, 2024), and 1.0 reworked damage types for heavy enemies in general.
The rule that helps most against a boss that can kill you in two hits came with 1.0: "Enemies no longer regain all their health instantly when you die", Keen's 1.0 Update Highlights say, "so coming back for another attempt at the boss doesn't mean starting from scratch". Go back quickly and the Brawler will still be wounded.
How many players have beaten it
The Vukah Brawler has no Steam achievement, and no count of its kills has been published, as of Oct 28, 2026.
