Crafting Recipes

In Enshrouded 1.0 you make nails at the Blacksmith (1 Metal Scraps gives 2 Nails), metal bars at the Smelter (10 ore and 10 Charcoal give 10 Copper Bars), Charcoal at the Charcoal Kiln (12 Wood Logs and 3 Dirt give 10), and Metal Sheets at the Forge (2 Metal Scraps, 2 Charcoal). This page lists the most searched 1.0 recipes with their station, inputs and where the inputs come from.

In Enshrouded 1.0, Nails come from the Blacksmith (1 Metal Scraps makes 2 Nails), metal bars from the Smelter (10 Copper Ore and 10 Charcoal make 10 Copper Bars), and Charcoal from the Charcoal Kiln (12 Wood Logs and 3 Dirt make 10), according to AllThingsHow's 1.0 recipe lists of Oct 16 to 23, 2026. Those numbers are new: Keen Games' 1.0 highlights video (Oct 15, 2026) says it "reworked early crafting recipes to reduce frustrating resource bottlenecks", and the changelog adds that armor sets need fewer resources at every tier, the Alchemical Base needs "far fewer parts", the glider needs less Shroud Adhesive and stone recipes use the local region's stone (Keen, Oct 14, 2026). So any recipe guide from before Oct 15, 2026 may be wrong. Keen publishes no recipe list of its own; the quantities below are AllThingsHow's, read from the 1.0 game, and every resource's details screen in 1.0 also says where to find more. Which survivor owns which station is on Crafting Stations, and where the raw materials are is on Materials and Ores.

Quick facts

Nails, Charcoal and Metal Sheets

These three hold up most early building and crafting, and all of them come from the Blacksmith, the first survivor the 1.0 main quest has you free (his rescue is your second level-up, per Keen's changelog; see Survivors).

Item Station Inputs Yield Where the inputs come from
Nails Blacksmith, Resources tab 1 Metal Scraps 2 Metal Scraps from breaking metal beds and furniture in ruined settlements; house cupboards and shelves also hold 4 Nails each
Charcoal Charcoal Kiln 12 Wood Logs, 3 Dirt 10 Any tree; dirt from digging
Tar Charcoal Kiln 24 Wood Logs, 6 Dirt 20 As above
Wood Acid Charcoal Kiln 15 Wood Logs, 3 Dirt 10 As above
Metal Sheets Forge 2 Metal Scraps, 2 Charcoal 1 Scraps from ruins; Charcoal from the kiln
Coal Powder Grinding Stones 3 Charcoal 3 Charcoal

The stations themselves, per the same lists: the Charcoal Kiln costs 20 Stone and the Forge 30 Stone, 10 Metal Scraps, 10 Charcoal and 12 Wood Logs, both from the Blacksmith (AllThingsHow, Oct 22, 2026; Nails, Oct 16, 2026). Metal Scraps are the early bottleneck because the starter tools, the Forge, Nails, Metal Sheets and the grappling hook all need them (AllThingsHow tips, Oct 17, 2026).

Metal bars: Smelter and Blast Furnace

Bars come from two stations. The Smelter (50 Fired Bricks and a Crucible, from the Blacksmith) makes ten at a time with Charcoal; the later Blast Furnace (20 Fired Bricks, a Bellows, 10 Lumps of Clay, 10 Iron Bars and 30 Sand) makes twenty at a time with Coal (AllThingsHow, Oct 22, 2026).

Bars Station Inputs Yield Ore comes from
Copper Bars Smelter 10 Copper Ore, 10 Charcoal 10 Revelwood
Tin Bars Smelter 10 Tin Ore, 10 Charcoal, 2 Wood Acid 10 Nomad Highlands Shroud
Bronze Bars Smelter 7 Copper Bars, 3 Tin Bars, 10 Charcoal 10 Bars above
Iron Bars Smelter 10 Iron Ore, 20 Charcoal 10 Kindlewastes Shroud
Glass Smelter 30 Sand, 10 Charcoal 10 Kindlewastes sand
Iron Bars Blast Furnace 20 Iron Ore, 40 Coal 20 Coal from the Albaneve Summits
Silver Bars Blast Furnace 20 Silver Ore, 40 Coal 20 Albaneve Summits Shroud
Gold Bars Blast Furnace 20 Gold Ore or Archaic Shards, 40 Coal 20 Veilwater Basin, underwater
Celestium Bars Blast Furnace 20 Celestium Ore, 40 Coal 20 Cinder's Cradle (new in 1.0)

The ore regions are AllThingsHow's 1.0 "materials by region" list (Oct 22, 2026). A batch takes from 3:30 minutes (copper) to 12 minutes (Celestium) in those lists, and the world setting for workstation speed scales it; see World Settings and Difficulty. Keen's 1.0 changelog says factory recipes players need in bulk now yield more and run faster.

Linen, String, Fabric and Leather

Item Station Inputs Yield Where the inputs come from
Linen Hand Spindle 2 Flax 1 Flax grows in the Revelwood; plant it at the seedbed
Linen Spinning Wheel 1 Flax 1 As above
Linen Spinning Machine 10 Flax 15 As above
String Spinning Wheel 2 Plant Fiber or Paper Reed 1 Fields and reeds; String is also personal crafting
Fabric Loom 2 Linen 1 Linen
Wool Spinning Machine 16 Raw Wool 12 Raw Wool from farm animals (Farming, Fishing and Animals)
Dried Fur Drying Rack 1 Animal Fur, 3 Salt 1 Fur from wildlife; Salt below
Leather Tanning Station 10 Dried Fur, 20 Salt, 2 Ammonia Gland 10 Ammonia Glands from Fell Mushroom Crabs in the Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes Shroud

All from the Huntress's stations except the seedbed; the Loom itself needs 30 Linen, 10 Nails and a Bronze Bar among its parts (AllThingsHow).

Flax is the slow part, and Keen's own tip still holds. Its Beginner Tips video (Feb 7, 2024, early access) says flax is "scattered only in a few spots around the world", but one flax at the seedbed yields "a whopping 10 flax seeds", and that the seedbed needs water. Since 1.0, small plants grow faster than before and large ones slower (Keen, Oct 14, 2026).

Resin, Salt and Sulfur

Resin comes from trees, and the color matters. In the same Keen video, green trees have "a small chance of dropping resin", but trees with brown leaves are "almost guaranteed" to give one to three each time. AllThingsHow's 1.0 list says stumps and red-leaved trees. Resin goes into the first Fire Bolt spells (2 Resin for 20 charges), wall and standing torches and the first Flame upgrade. Enshrouded has no item called glue: the sticky materials are Resin, Tar and the Shroud Adhesive the better gliders use.

Salt is a Springlands material: Keen's own store screenshot of the Ectoplasm Press calls it "mined in Springlands Shroud", and AllThingsHow's 1.0 tips send you to the Egerton Salt Mines through the Huntress's quest "Salt Mine Location". It cures fur and leather and goes into Nitrate.

Sulfur is a Kindlewastes material. AllThingsHow (Oct 16, 2026) finds it as bright yellow patches on the cliffs and cave walls of the red-rock canyons, mined with a pickaxe, and in Scavenger loot: most Scavenger types drop 1 or 2 half the time. It cannot be crafted. It goes into Black Powder, Enshrouded Oil, the Ghost Glider, Fire Bolt V and poisoned arrows.

Explosives

Item Station Inputs Notes
Explosive Powder Ball Personal crafting 2 Metal Scraps, 2 Charcoal, 2 Tar, 1 Plant Fiber or Paper Reed Item level 10; a shelf in the first cave also restocks them
Explosive Powder Ball Net Alchemist 3 Linen, 3 Explosive Powder Balls Level 15
Black Powder Laboratory 7 Nitrate, 1 Sulfur, 2 Coal Powder Makes 1
Nitrate Laboratory 5 Shroud Sand, 1 Wood Acid, 1 Salt, 5 Sand Makes 5
Black Powder Ball Alchemist 1 Plant Fiber, 1 Iron Bars, 2 Black Powder, 1 Lump of Clay Level 21
Incendiary Ball Alchemist 1 Flammable Goo, 1 Glass, 1 Flintstone Sets an area on fire

Recipes from AllThingsHow's 1.0 bombs list (Oct 23, 2026), whose bomb damage scales with Dexterity. Keen rebalanced the explosive bombs at 1.0 because they did "an unintentionally large amount of damage to very hard building materials" (1.0 changelog).

Shroud Liquid, Shroud Core and Goo

Shroud Liquid cannot be crafted. AllThingsHow (Oct 16, 2026) gathers it from pale, round growths in Shroud valleys, 1 to 3 each, most of them in the Springlands and Revelwood Shroud; no enemy drops it. It is needed for the first Flame upgrade (5), the Shroud Core (10) and the Improved Grappling Hook (2).

Item Station Inputs Used for
Shroud Core Alchemist 10 Shroud Spores, 10 Shroud Liquid Medium magic chest, Quick Stack Station, altar upgrades
Goo Alchemist (with a Mortar) 1 Springlands Dirt, 2 Shroud Mushroom, 1 Bug Dust Magic chests, Quick Stack Station
Alchemical Base Alchemy Station 2 Shroud Mushroom, 2 Acidic Mycelium, 1 Shroud Particles, 1 Corrosive Blood Better potions, large magic chest
Enshrouded Oil Laboratory 5 Shroud Particles, 5 Coal Powder, 5 Brittle Shroud Flakes, 1 Sulfur (makes 5) Ghost Glider, huge magic chest
Ectoplasm Ectoplasm Press 10 Ectoplasm Fragment, 5 Torn Cloth, 1 Charcoal (makes 10) Hollow Halls chests

Shroud Spores drop from Shroud enemies in the Springlands and Revelwood. A Medium Magic Chest is a Medium Chest plus a Shroud Core and 2 Goo (AllThingsHow, Carpenter recipes). The fog's rules are on The Shroud. One check on these lists: AllThingsHow's Purified Slime recipe at the Ectoplasm Press (3 Charcoal, 10 Salt, 3 Toxic Slime and 1 Wood Acid for 10) names the same four materials as Keen's own store screenshot below.

Two parchment-framed menus over a blurred base. The left, Backpack, shows a grid of items with stack counts and an action bar of weapons, potions and food. The right, Ectoplasm Press, shows the recipe Purified Slime, 5 s, with a progress bar reading Working and 2 queued, and its ingredients: Charcoal, crafted at the Charcoal Kiln; Salt, mined in Springlands Shroud; Toxic Slime, mined in Hollow Halls; and Wood Acid, crafted at the Charcoal Kiln.
The Backpack and Ectoplasm Press menus side by side: Purified Slime is being crafted from Charcoal, Salt mined in Springlands Shroud, Toxic Slime mined in Hollow Halls and Wood Acid in an official Steam store screenshot of Enshrouded. Keen Games GmbH

Bandages and potions

Item Station Inputs
Bandage Personal crafting 1 Torn Cloth, 1 String
Health Potion Alchemist 1 Penny Bun, 1 Purple Berries, 1 Water
Greater Health Potion Alchemist (Mortar) 1 Honey, 1 Purple Berries, 1 Chamomile, 1 Water
Mana Potion Alchemist (Mortar) 2 Azure Russula
Shroud Survival Flask Alchemist 1 Fresh Shroud Spore, 20 Active Mycelium, 1 Wood Acid
Antidote Alchemist (Mortar) 1 Poison Sack, 3 Milk, 5 Spider Gland (makes 3)

Potion recipes are AllThingsHow's (Alchemist recipes); its Shroud Survival Flask recipe differs from older guides, so check yours in game. Keen's support tips say bandages "only heal over time" but are "still useful when running out of health potions mid exploring", and recommend drinking Shroud Survival Potions before entering the fog (Keen). Since 1.0, drinking a flask while its buff runs extends it (1.0 changelog). Food recipes are on Food and Cooking.

Glider and grappling hook

Item Station Inputs Unlock
Glider Workbench 8 Shroud Wood, 2 Animal Fur, 2 String, 2 Shroud Spores Pick up any of those materials
Advanced Glider Carpenter 6 Shroud Wood, 4 Linen, 4 String, 8 Shroud Sack Carpenter rescued
Extraordinary Glider Carpenter 4 Shroud Wood, 2 Leather, 2 Linen, 15 Shroud Adhesive Collect Leather
Ghost Glider Carpenter 3 Shroud Wood, 2 Fabric, 4 Enshrouded Oil, 1 Sulfur, 1 String Find the first one in a Sun Temple (the Alchemist's quest "Among The Bluejays")
Grappling Hook Workbench 4 Metal Scraps, 7 String, 10 Shroud Spores Pick up String, Shroud Wood, Animal Fur or Shroud Spores
Improved Grappling Hook Carpenter 1 Grappling Hook, 1 Shroud Core, 2 Shroud Liquid, 3 Shroud Spores Defeat the Scavenger Matron

From AllThingsHow's glider and grappling hook guides (Oct 17, 2026; hook). Older guides list 25 Shroud Adhesive for the Extraordinary Glider; 15 fits Keen's 1.0 note that "less Shroud Adhesive is now needed for the glider". Shroud Wood comes from dead trees under the Shroud. How to use both tools is on Glider, Grappling Hook and Fast Travel.

First recipes and armor materials

The opening recipes, per AllThingsHow's workbench list (Oct 2026): a Flame Altar is 5 Stone of any kind, the Workbench 8 Wood Logs and 3 String, the first pickaxe and axe 4 Twigs, 1 Stone and 1 String each, a Lockpick 2 Metal Scraps or Obsidian, and Wooden Arrows 2 Twigs for 10. Keen adds that higher-tier locks need Archaic Lockpicks, which start in Cinder's Cradle (1.0 changelog).

Armor and weapon recipes follow the region bars above (bronze, iron, silver, gold, then Celestium), with Fabric, Leather and Wool for the light sets. Since 1.0 you do not hunt for armor recipes: "every time the Flame gets upgraded, the armor sets for the following crafting tier get automatically unlocked", and every armor set recipe needs fewer resources than before (Keen). Upgrades cost runes, which you get by salvaging gear, and legendary items need legendary runes one upgrade step later than in early access. The sets are on Armor Sets, the weapons on Weapons.

Store all of these in magic chests. Keen's Forging the Path highlights (Apr 21, 2026) introduce the Quick Stack Station, which sorts your pockets "into the chest around you", and let you "build directly from magic chests", pulling materials from nearby chests even with none in your backpack; stations read magic chests the same way.
